I thought this wold be fairly straight forward but ended up having a problem that was totally messing up the layout of the blog. The video was flung up to the top right, the menus were pushed down to the bottom and I couldn’t figure out what the problem was. Save it a first time and it was ok, save it a send time and it was all messed up again.

The solution

I did a quick search for a you tube plug-in for word press and came across this website with the plugin i needed: EasyTube – YouTube Plugin for WordPress

All you have to do is download it, unzip it and upload the folder and its contents to your plugins folder and then activate it. To add a video you simply copy the url and add it in between the relevant tags i.e for youtube or google video etc. Hit save and voila! No need to mess about with positioning and it doesn’t mess up the look of your blog!
